Court of Appeal to Handle 39 Constitutional Petitions in One Month

The Constitutional Court on September 14, 2022 kicked off a month-long Constitutional Petitions session where 39 matters are being handled.

The Session is being presided over by Justices; Hon. Justice Fredrick Martin Stephen Engonda-Ntende, Hon. Lady Justice Elizabeth Musoke, Hon. Justice Christopher Madrama, Hon. Lady Justice Monica Mugenyi, and Hon. Justice Christopher Gashirabake.

The Court's Deputy Registrar, HW Lillian Bucyana, who issued the cause-list said the matters to be handled are some of those filed between 2016 to date. 

Adding that the matters cause-listed are those that confronted the various protections laid out in the Constitution. Such protections could be in respect to the bill of rights or the Constitution itself.
