Is there alternative dispute resolution in the SCP court?

· A Judicial officer shall, in any\r\nappropriate case, refer the parties to mediation, arbitration or other form of\r\nalternative dispute resolution within 14 days before the hearing of a case.

\r\n\r\n

·  Where the parties reach an\r\nagreement the judicial officer records a consent judgment.

\r\n\r\n

·   The judicial officer is the one\r\nto decide on the suitability of the case for alternative dispute resolution and\r\nwill give directions.

\r\n\r\n

·     An agreement reached at\r\nalternative dispute resolution shall be signed by both parties and endorsed by\r\nthe court as a consent judgment. It shall then be binding on both parties.

\r\n\r\n

·  When parties fail to settle the\r\ncase through alternative dispute solution, the matter will be heard by the\r\njudicial officer.
