CJ Swears in New UHRC Member

KAMPALA: The Chief Justice, Hon. Justice Bart M. Katureebe, swore in former Kabarole Woman MP, Hon. Victoria Rusoke Businge, as a new member of the Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC).

In the ceremony that took place at the Judiciary headquarters in Kampala, the Chief Justice congratulated Hon. Rusoke on her new appointment.

He said that the experience she has garnered as a Member of Parliament will make her job at UHRC easier.

In his remarks,the CJ also advocated that the right to a fair hearing be put in proper perspective so that people enjoy their rights.

Hon.  Rusoke thanked the President for identifying and appointing her as a member of UHRC. 

She pledged total commitment, discipline and integrity in her new post.

The Chairperson UHRC Mr. Meddie S.K Kaggwa, thanked the Chief Justice and the Judiciary for maintaining a good working relationship with the Commission.
